Edith Head was one Hollywood's most celebrated costume designers.
She won 8 Academy Awards and designed for every leading lady
in town such as Mae West, Sophie Loren, Elizabeth Taylor, Grace Kelly,
Audrey Hepburn, Veronica Lake, Bettie Davis and Ginger Rogers
to name a few. In 1924, despite lacking art, design and costume experience,
she was hired as a costume sketch artist at Paramount Studios.
She began designing costumes for silent films and by the 1930’s she had
established herself as one of Hollywood’s leading costume designers.
Her work was beautiful, glamorous, imaginative and one of a kind.
